Mr Haigh was given two years in jail over 'breach of trust' charges in the Dubai Criminal Court. He is planning to continue legal action against his former employer, Dubai-based investment business GFH Capital. He was arrested in May 2014 on charges of misappropriating US$5m from the company. His release comes earlier than might be expected because months are calculated on a 23-day basis for Dubai sentences.
Clear his name
A spokesman for Mr Haigh said: 'David continues to maintain, as he has done throughout his ordeal, that he is innocent of any wrongdoing. He is confident he will clear his name with the various legal actions he will be continuing against GFH and others upon his return to the UK.' Source: Arabian Business
