Male general counsel take home an average of $148,500 more than their female counterparts and females get smaller bonuses. According to the ABA Journal, an ALM Legal Intelligence survey reported the disparity with male heads of legal receiving an average $723,700 compared with females who earned an average of $575,200. Bonuses for females were 40% less than males in similar jobs.
