Fieldfisher senior partner accused of bias over BHA relationship

According to reports in RollonFriday, Mr Lohn received payment for legal advice given to the British Horseracing Authority since at least 2013 - which he believed did not conflict with his role chairing the Authority's independent disciplinary panels, a position he has held for the last 11 years. The BHA allegedly first approached Mr Lohn for advice in October 2013 and received occasional advice from the Fieldfisher senior partner over the next couple of years. While Mr Lohn had previously turned down an opportunity to pitch for substantial work stemming from a rule-redraft at the BHA, citing conflicts of interest, he reportedly believed the non-disciplinary advice work later performed for the BHA to be trivial and non-conflicting.
