Financial Conduct Authority Counsel to join McGuireWoods

David Kirk from FCA will join as new partner with McGuireWoods LLC S. Borisov

David Kirk, Chief Criminal Counsel at Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), will become a partner with the MCGuireWoods joining its Government, Regulatory and Criminal Investigations (GRCI) practice at the beginning of 2014.
At the FCA, Kirk managed criminial investigations, prosecutions and foreign law enforcements.

His new position at GRCI will be to provide assistance in financial regulations and compliance, as well as advising clients on future conduct. His tenure at the FCA will end in November. Prior to joining the FCA, Kirk served as director of the Fraud Prosecution Service for three years and worked as a partner at Stephenson Harwood and then Simons Muirhead & Burton.

Regulatory practice

The firm’s GRCI practice regularly conducts audits, investigations and training to resolve internal issues, defend external investigations, and establish and strengthen compliance programs. It provides counsel across major substantive areas, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the UK Bribery Act 2010, environmental, energy and immigration enforcements, SEC and corporate compliance, internal investigations, False Claims Act and other inquiries.
