Firm which abolished hourly billing opens 6th office

AdventBalance - the Australian practice which seconds lawyers to clients for fixed time periods - has opened a Brisbane office, bringing its total to six.

Instead of using billable hours, the firm sends its lawyers to clients for a fixed amount of time at a fixed fee. It already operates in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Hong Kong and Singapore. Ken Jagger, chief executive, said: 'This year, we will focus on consolidating and growing our offering for both international and national businesses, and Brisbane will play a key role in our expansion plans.'
