The firm hired a team of gambling, corporate litigation and real estate lawyers in Chicago last year and earlier merged with 18-lawyer David & Goodman to open in Dallas. Oppenheimer had also been on the look-out for a partner and engaged in preliminary discussions with Minneapolis firm Lindquist & Vennum in 2014, which are understood to have broken down over client conflicts.
