Freshfields uses salary hike to recruit for new admin hub

Freshfields is understood to be making waves in Manchester by offering salaries to paralegals that are 27 per cent above the market rate, as it staffs up to open its new administration centre there this summer.

Faced with the need to recruit quickly and fill as many as 400 posts, according to sources outside the firm, Freshfields is understood to have been offering pay of £23,000 instead of the current market rate of £18,000 to paralegals with six months experience who have completed the Legal Practice Course and who have strong academic CVs.
