Garrigues opens in Beijing to extend push through Asia

Taken with lawyers based in its ten-year old office in Shanghai, the Spanish law firm will now have a team of 20 lawyers working in Asia.

Garrigues says it is 'the only Spanish law firm with two offices and a permanent structure of local and international lawyers in China.' Led by partner Manuel Torres, the new office is intended to provide more efficient service to clients in Beijing and offers direct counsel in corporate, labour, IP and tax law areas.

The firm views itself as ‘a gateway through which Chinese traders can enter the Latin American market, on which Garrigues has an actual presence and its own offices in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and an international law office in Brazil.' Source: Garrigues
