Ghana's top judge has criticised the attitude of new lawyers who are in a 'get rich quick' mode. Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo told new graduates that the country was 'witnessing these days, a distressing increase in a number of disciplinary complaints that come before the disciplinary committee of the General Legal Council against lawyers, especially the younger ones at the bar.' The judge said that lawyers must ensure that the code of ethics is not violated  and said that the root cause of disciplinary complaints could be attribute to 'lack of self-discipline and the desire to get rich quick on the part of new lawyers.'
