Global law group aids Greek children's charity

A global association of lawyers has donated nearly €7,000 to a Greek children's charity in recognition of the on-going difficulties facing the country as its economy continues to deteriorate.

Costas Yannopoulos, chairman and founder of the Smile of the Child charity, accepts donation from Multilaw chairman, Mark Lowndes, at the Multilaw EMEA Regional Conference in Athens

Members of Multilaw -- a global association of independent law firms -- have made their first donation under the newly-created ‘Multilaw billable hour project’, giving €6,865 to The Smile of the Child, a non-profit volunteer organisation.
The project sees Multilaw raise funds from members who make donations to local charities selected by the conference-hosting firm and the Multilaw Academy.
Costas Yannopoulos, chairman and founder of the children’s charity – selected by conference host Athens based law firm Kelemenis & Co – said: ‘I would like to extend my warmest gratitude for Multilaw's generous donation to our organisation. We are funded exclusively by donations and the money raised during the Multilaw conference in Athens will bring us one step closer to achieving our goal to never say no to a child in need.’
Mr Yannopoulos accepted the donation from Multilaw Chairman, Mark Lowndes, at the conference.
