General Motors is expecting several hundred claims to be files as it launches its compensation programme of $400 million. The company, which recalled 2.6 million vehicles after 54 accidents and 13 deaths as a result of a faulty ignition switch on some of its vehicles, has appointed Washington DC lawyer Kenneth Feinberg to run the compensaiton programme. The amount is not capped.
