Greenberg Traurig creates new top role to develop firm outside US

The 1,800-lawyer practice with 30 offices around the world has created the post of executive chair - and the role is is understood to include developing international growth as well as overall strategy.

Greenberg Traurig is opening an office in Berlin tichr

The current chief executive officer, Richard Rosenbaum, is stepping into the role as one of the members of the 19-strong executive committee. A source at the firm told Bloomberg Business of Law about the international emphasis within the new role. The source said: 'Because of the growth of the firm, there was a need to expand the leadership team.'

Mr Rosennbaum has been closely involved in the opening of the firm's 38th office, in Berlin. This is due to happen in the autumn. Brian Duffy, now co-president of the firm, is taking over from Mr Rosenbaum as CEO. Source: Bloomberg Business of Law
