Ms Mee will bring more than 20 years in-house experience to her new role, including stints at Bombardier Transportation UK and London Underground Limited, where she served as director of legal until 2011. She has led negotiation on several highly complex matters relating to the transport infrastructure sector, including the exit of Metronet from administration and negotiations with the British Airports Authority (now Heathrow Airport Holdings) to link London's Piccadilly underground line to Heathrow Terminal 5.

Ms Mee's appointment comes six months after Hitachi Rail Europe announced that they had begun the hunt for their first GC in August last year. In December 2014, the company unveiled its first ever external legal panel, on which DLA Piper, Addleshaw Goddard, Shoosmiths, Stephenson Harwood, Eversheds and Ashurst all earned spots.
