Mr Mehigan has practised law in London, the Middle East and Asia, advising clients on restructuring and insolvency matters and on cross-border special situations financing and investment transactions. He moved to Ashurst’s Hong Kong office in 2014 from O’Melveny & Myers’ Singapore office and was previously at White & Case and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Singapore.
Key hires
The news follows a series of key partner hires for Howse Williams, which Asian Legal Business reports has added Janet Lee from the Hong Kong government’s Lands Department, Christopher Yu from Goodwin Procter and Antony Yung from JP Morgan to its ranks since April this year.
Ashurst departures
The team’s departure from Ashurst comes just a month after Doo-Soon Choi left the firm’s Hong Kong office for Mayer Brown JSM. The firm also lost four partners in London last week to Paul Hastings and Latham & Watkins.
Mr Mehigan and his team are set to join Howse Williams later this month.
