The move would let the cross-border firms bring their Hong Kong branches into their standard LLP structure. Such a law is 'expected' to be approved by the Legislative Council within a year, following positive indications from Solicitor-General Frank Poon, says Legal Week. He is quoted as saying: 'In the course of the next 12 months [the Law Society] will go before Legco to explain the rules.
