Singapore: deporting workers Noppasin

As many as 57 Indians have been sent back to India, according to reports. Police have said that, although charges against four of them were dropped, their alleged involvement was seen as being serious enough to warrant repatriation. Workfair Singapore, a group which helps workers, has now asked the law ministry to clarify the situation. Workfair says that, if the workers have had the charges dropped against them, they must be innocent. The riots, on December 8, were ignited after one Indian worker was run over by a bus and died.
