Jones Day hires 10 clerks from the Supreme Court

The firm has taken on 29 of the 'elite appellate lawyers', as it describes them, in its last four intakes. It now has so many that it can locate some of them outside Washington, D.C. where there is most demand for their services.

Two of the 10 from this year's intake are going to the firm's new office in Detroit and one each is going to New York and Columbus. 

On the grapevine

Beth Heifetz, leader of the firm's Issues & Appeals practice, said: 'We're pleased that so many more of these best-and-brightest are coming to Jones Day. Clearly the former-clerk grapevine has spread the word that we're the firm of choice for entering private practice.' Source: Jones Day
