According to New Jersey-based Metropolitan Corporate Counsel magazine, the firm – which has a total of 37 worldwide offices, more than half being outside the US – came top of BTI Consulting Group’s 2013 ‘Client Service A-Team’ table.

High performer

The Cleveland-based firm was followed by Chicago stalwart Mayer Brown, while ‘new white shoe’ New York global practice Skadden came third.
According to the magazine, the BTI survey takes the mood of general counsel across the US. The report says Jones Day has been a consistently high performer in the survey over the years, never having fallen out of the top four.
Rounding out the table’s top 10 are: Virginia’s McGuire Woods, Chicago-based Seyfarth Shaw, another Cleveland-based practice, Thompson Hine, Kirkland & Ellis of Chicago, Minneapolis-based Faegre Baker Daniels and Chicago-based global firm Baker & McKenzie.
