Mr Madrigali, whose practice in Bakersfield focused on traffic issues and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In October, he was found dead at his Californian home by his own lawyer, who, concerned at not having heard from him for a couple of days, went along to the house with another lawyer. A coroner has now held that he had not intended to commit suicide but that he had become intoxicated with drugs.
Accused of being abusive alcoholic
Mrs Madrigali had died from complications a month after she was shot in the chest. Officers had smelt alcohol on her husband's breath when they came to the house in response to his call to emergency services, according to court filings.
