Harvey, one of the biggest suppliers of legal AI software, has said it will integrate its products with Aderant, a US supplier of legal billing software.

“This integration represents a significant step forward in how legal professionals manage both the practice and business of law,” said Chris Cartrett, president and CEO of Aderant.

“Harvey is redefining how lawyers work. By connecting that intelligence directly into Aderant, we’re giving firms the ability to track, manage and measure that work with the transparency and precision law firms have always needed.”

Harvey CEO, Winston Weinberg, said: “The future of legal technology is about making existing systems work together intelligently.”

The alliance is a sign of a maturing legaltech market in which suppliers are seeking to offer customers more comprehensive features by partnering with or buying peers.

In June, Harvey and LexisNexis said they would integrate their technology to support legal tasks, including research and drafting motions for summary judgment.

Earlier this month, Harvey, which is headquartered in San Francisco and is used by about 700 law firms and companies, closed a new round of funding led by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, valuing it at $8bn.

The company secured $160m, Tech Funding News reported, adding to $300m raised in June and $300m secured in February.

Also this month, CMS announced that it would extend a pilot rollout of Harvey AI software to more than 7,000 lawyers in more than 50 countries.
