Legora has raised another $550m in a Series E funding round that values the Swedish startup at $8.8bn.

The round comes just seven months after Legora raised $550m at a $5.6bn valuation. It will be used to support growth in North America, where it has built a network of seven offices since debuting in New York in 2025, as well as across Asia Pacific and Europe, where the company opened in Madrid, Milan and Paris in the summer, alongside an engineering base in London.

The round was led by Atreides Management, with new investors including Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners and JPMorgan. Existing major investors, including Accel, Benchmark, General Catalyst, ICONIQ and Redpoint Ventures, also participated.

Legora has now raised more than $1.4bn since its founding in 2023. The latest round comes amid a period of explosive growth at the company, which said annual recurring revenue had now passed $200m, having gone from $1m to $100m in less than 18 months.

In the US – now its largest market by revenue – more than half of the Am Law 50 are customers, while globally the firm serves more than 2,400 law firms and in-house legal teams, Legora said.

In-house teams are also quickly becoming a larger part of the business, going from a small fraction of Legora’s customer base a year ago to more than 40% of new customers in the third quarter.

“The opportunity in legal is enormous, and we are still early,” said Max Junestrand, Legora’s CEO and co-founder. “AI is changing the role of the lawyer, with more time for judgement and advice, and it is reshaping how law firms and in-house legal teams are organised and how their work gets done. We intend to lead that shift in the US and globally.”

Legora’s major rival Harvey raised $550m at a $15.5bn valuation in September, continuing a remarkable period of fundraising that has seen its valuation triple in just over a year.
