Mr Bedford was named as head of Linklaters’ corporate practice in 2014 after spending almost four years working out of the firm’s office in Singapore. This is the second time he has left the firm to take up an in-house opportunity. In 1996, he joined BAE Systems’ legal team after training and qualifying with Linklaters’ real estate team, before later rejoining the firm in 2000. His new position with emerging markets and private equity house LeapFrog will see him take over from incumbent GC Tom Brunner, who will stay on with the company as a partner. Unusually, Mr Bedford will remain a partner with Linklaters on a part-time basis, though his role as City corporate head is to be phased out by the firm.
