LOD currently has only one office, but AdventBalance’s expansion strategy has seen the firm open six offices in six years. Post-merger, the firm will have 600 lawyers and have offices across London, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Perth, Singapore and Sydney.

LOD co-founder Simon Harper will join LOD managing director Tom Hartley on the new firm’s global leadership team. Mr Harper will act as managing director while Mr Hartley will become CEO. The global leadership team will also include AdventBalance co-founders Ken Jagger and John Knox, who will become COO and co-managing director respectively.

Looking to expand further

The merger will take place next month, with the new business taking the LOD name in second half of 2016. Mr Harper commented that LOD would look to open in new regions following the merger.
