LVMH GC Louise Firestone and her team to star at Luxury Law Summit Americas

Top GCs and law firms to debate impact of Covid-19 on luxury sector at 3 December online event

LVMH general counsel Louise Firestone and The New York Times’s chief fashion critic, Vanessa Friedman, are among the speakers attending the Luxury law Summit Americas on 3 December.

They will be joined by other leading luxury GCs and law firms to explore how the Covid-19 pandemic will permanently change the global luxury sector. 

Other speakers include Steve Lamar, president and CEO of the American Apparel and Footwear Association, Shane St. Hill, global director of legal at Godiva Chocolatier. Amazon corporate counsel Annasara Purcell and Julien Dudouit, Global IP senior brand manager at eBay, are the latest to join the summit’s faculty.   

Chaired by Barbara Kolsun, director of The FAME Center and professor of practice at Cardozo Law School, the online event will host interactive talks, panels and workshops.

Delegates will be briefed on the obstacles facing the luxury sector during the pandemic and changes in regulation and practice they can expect following Joe Biden’s presidential election victory. 

Workshops are being hosted by Bennett Jones, Epstein Drangel, Davis Wright Tremaine, Baker McKenzie, McCarthy Tétrault, Hogan Lovells, Bird & Bird and Cozen O’Connor. 

Topics include ‘Luxury Tech, Social Media and Advertising’, ‘Authentication, Brands and Counterfeits’, and ‘How luxury companies can navigate the fast-expanding maze of cross-border regulations’.

For her session, Firestone will be joined by key members of the LVMH legal department to share their insights on working for an iconic global luxury brand.

With luxury top brands at the summit including Amazon, eBay, SENTALER, David Yurman, Chanel, Christian Dior, L’oreal, Vince Holding, PVH, Coty, Kering, the event is free to attend for GCs and their teams.
