A trainee who takes this route will qualify as a solicitor after six years, after taking a law degree, the required post-graduate qualification and the vocational training - all as part of the apprenticeship process. The first recruit under the scheme is due to start in September. Trainees will be employed by Mayer Brown throughout the period and will spend their first 12 to 18 months working in business services departments. After that, the trainees will be allocated to different practices in the London office.
