Alongside another former McKenna Long lawyer, David Brown (now at BakerHostetler), he will be advising on the mega merger of three Coca-Cola bottlers that is creating Coca-Cola European Partners, a business whose revenue is projected at US$12.6b for 2015.
Unavoidable conflicts
The Dentons-McKenna merger took place on 1 July. Mr Long, now aged 79, emailed his colleagues to say: 'McKenna Long & Aldridge is merging with the Dentons law firm, a great opportunity for the firm. Unfortunately, however, certain clients of mine have unavoidable conflicts of interest with certain of Dentons' clients. It is therefore necessary that I retire from the firm.' Source: Daily Report
