News website WMUR names one of the six-strong group as Garret Ean, who is involved with Free Keene and other Free State groups.
Mr Ean said that citizens of the city of Keen, New Hampshire, ‘really appreciate it’ when the group fills up meters which are close to expiration.

However, city officials see the do-gooders act in a different light and have accused the group of harassing officers and interfering with their work.
According to the report, the group often film their efforts and post videos online. In some of the videos, members of the group are seen to follow enforcers.
The city claims that one enforcement officer suffered stress and anxiety from the group's actions and even experienced heart palpitations.
The lawsuit asks that members of the group stay at least 50 feet away from enforcement officers.
