New York state merger creates 275-lawyer firm

To be known as Barclay Damon, the firm - made up of Hiscock & Barclay from Syracuse and Damon Morey of Buffalo - describes itself as a 'super-regional' practice and will become the largest law firm in the Northeast outside the major cities.

The highest concentrration of lawyers is in Buffalo where there are 150 lawyers in two offices. There are 12 offices in total, including one abroad (in Toronto) and one in Washington DC. The firm says it has 33 specialist areas of focus.
