The team is led by News Corp’s top lawyer, New York-based general counsel Gerson Zweifach, who –according to the website Blue and Green Tomorrow – will act as chief compliance officer with responsibility for the programme.

Hacking scandal

Mr Murdoch said the company – which is still rocking from the hacking scandal -- has initiated a review of anti-corruption controls in selected locations around the world. According to The Guardian newspaper, the New Corp boss issued a staff memo saying the company had instigated the probe as part of a ‘forward-looking review’ to improve international bribery law compliance.
In the memo – which the Reuters news agency says it has seen -- Mr Murdoch said: ‘The purpose of this review is to test our current internal controls and identify ways in which we can enhance them. Let me emphasise that the review is not based on any suspicion of wrongdoing by any particular business unit or its personnel.’
