A recent poll conducted by online industry publication Legal Cheek has found that Britain’s younger legal set are far more vehemently opposed to Britain’s prospective exit from the European Union than their more senior counterparts. Data collected from 1,000 lawyers and law students shows that overall only 24.78 per cent a pro-Brexit.
However, the number who back Britain’s departure shrinks even further among law students, with fewer than 20 per cent backing the ‘Vote Leave’ campaign. Trainee solicitors and pupil barristers had a similar split to the broader survey sample, with 75.93 per cent hoping that Britain will stay in the EU. Though still in the minority, barristers emerged as the legal set most likely to back Brexit, with 35 per cent in favour of leaving.
