Matthew Lam and Joanne Wu will be stepping up to the helm of Nixon Peabody CWL, the Hong Kong firm formed last year through the combination of local outfit CWL Partners and Boston-headquartered global megafirm Nixon Peabody. The pair will be replacing Kenneth Wong, former managing partner of CWL Partners and the incumbent managing partner of the merged firm. Mr Wong will be stepping down from the top post but staying on as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice. Mr Lam is currently a partner in the firm’s corporate and China practices with experience in corporate and commercial matters, cross-border transactions, project finance and IP protection and litigation in both Hong Kong and mainland China. Ms Wu, who currently heads the firm’s Hong Kong dispute resolution practice, has experience in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, with a focus on commercial and shareholder disputes involving parties in mainland China.
