The two partners involved are Douglas Freeman - former Asia head of Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson - and Victor Chen. Their arrival will strengthen the M&A team at Paul Hastings. The two lawyers have advised on several high profile, large deals in China in recent years. They worked on the US$1.5b purchase by Alibaba of AutoNavi Holdings, the digital mapping and navigation business. Their arrival at Paul Hastings will take the partner numbers to 16 in Hong Kong.
