Mr Alexander will join the firm as an advisor from this Friday, helping to develop Pinsent's ethics and compliance capabilities and offering guidance to the firm and its clients about challenges and opportunities arising from Britain's changing role in Europe. Specifically, Mr Alexander's experience in government will come in handy when helping to advise Pinsent on client engagement around the upcoming Brexit referendum in June. He will divide his time between his new role at Pinsent and his various other commitments as a senior fellow at Harvard University, a visiting lecturer King's College and an advisor to celebrity philanthropist and U2 frontman Bono.

Pinsent Masons senior partner Richard Foley has described Mr Alexander as one of the most engaging and political politicians of his generation. Mr Alexander served in the governments of former British prime ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown and was a member of the UK parliament until last year. His roles have included serving as secretary of transport, secretary of state for Scotland and minister for Europe.
