Pop star JoJo talks of repaying debts to her lawyers over years

Platinum-selling pop star JoJo has spoken of the litigation which ended her previous relationship with a record company, saying 'I'm going to be paying back my litigators for years'.

A prolonged legal battle with her record label kept JoJo from releasing an album for the better part of a decade s_bukley

The singer was represented by Noah Shube in 2013 when a suit was filed by the New York law office on her behalf, citing laws covering minors as a reason for her not being bound by a contract with Blackground Records. In 2004, when she was 13, she had become the youngest singler to have a No 1 single on Billboard‘s mainstream Top 40 chart. 

Belief in success

Talking of her relationship with her lawyers, she said: 'They did it because they believed I was going to be successful in the future. They see the fight within me. I was told by tons of lawyers that I would never get out and that I should go to college.' Source: Time
