Record numbers attend AIJA conference

Over 360 lawyers have attended the 2013 congress of the International Association of Young Lawyers (IAYL) which has just been held in Buenos Aires.

The numbers of members in attendance represent 9 per cent of the total membership of the organisation which is now 4,000-strong. Nearly a third (30 per cent) of members come from outside Europe. Anita Schlapfer, a partner in Schellenberg Wittmer in Zurich, was appointed president of the IAYL. The association’s next major event is the bi-annual conference on 21-23 November in Luxembourg.
