Reward offered as former Jones Day lawyer dies after shooting

A US$12,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an indictment in relation to the shooting of Carey Gabay, who died on Wednesday after being caught in crossfire from an apparent gang shootout.

The 43-year old lawyer appears to have been the innocent victim of the shootout, which happened in Brooklyn, New York just before the start of the West Indian American Day Parade. He died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

He was an employee at a New York state economic developent agency. The Harvard Law School graduate also used to work for Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York. The governor said: 'He held a tremendous commitment to his community, and he chose to use his many talents to better the lives of others.
