Senior lawyers on for 4.8pc salary growth in Canada

The 2015 Robert Half salary survey for Canada is predicting a 4.8 per cent rise for lawyers of 10 years experience and more working in medium-sized law firms.

Increases for this group will be on a lower scale, at 3.3 per cent, at large firms. Less experienced lawyers in medium-sized firms will see growth in pay of four per cent. Medium-sized firms are, in general, expected to be awarded bigger rises than in larger firms next year. The report predicts: ‘The legal job market in Canada is expected to see modest gains in the year ahead, with growth in the litigation and corporate law practice areas driving much of the hiring.’ Source: Canadian Lawyer
