The new office will mark the firm’s second overseas launch following London, reports The Lawyer.
'Natural choice'
Mr Li joins the firm as a partner and becomes its chief representative in Shanghai, while international chair Darren Gardner spearheads the firm’s expansion into China.
Mr Gardener has confirmed that the new office will concentrate on employment law and energy and resources and will have two partners at the time of launch.
Mr Gardener also described China as the ‘natural choice’ for expansion due to needs of many of the firm’s clients.
