Royal Dutch Shell has put human resources and corporate officer Hugh Mitchell in charge of its legal department following the sudden departure of Peter Rees QC. Mr Mitchell will head up the global legal team until the company finds a new legal director. He will be assisted by corporate general counsel and company secretary Michiel Brandjes.
