Sidley Austin lawyer accused of harassment in case linked to Petraeus

The US Justice Department is alleging in a protective order that Sidley Austin lawyers are abusing the discovery system and that one questioned an FBI agent 'in a manner designed to annoy, embarrass and harass'.

The Department of Justice has made allegations against Sidley & Austin lawyers Orhan Cam

Sidley Austin is acting for a couple, Jill and Scott Kelley of Florida, who allege that federal officials have breached their privacy in relation to Jill Kelley's contact with General David Petraeus in the past. The couple were involved in the exposure of General Petraeus's affair with his biographer - and they claim that government leaks made their names public and encouraged incorrect speculation that Mrs Kelley had an affair with the general.

After a Sidley Austin lawyer questioned an FBI agent in September the US government claimed that the firm had been fishing 'for facts to support an unsubstantiated theory' about the conduct of the FBI agents in relation to the couple. Source: ABA
