The new outfit, to be called Christopher Saul Associates, will open in the second half of this year to provide dispute resolution advice to corporate clients. In a somewhat unconventional move for a top-tier corporate lawyer, Mr Saul and his new practice will return to classic pre-litigation dispute resolution between corporates, including boardroom disputes, joint venture woes, governance guidance and advice for family-owned businesses moving through generational change.
'Although mediation tends to be the preserve of disputes lawyers I hope that, with my transactional experience and additional perspectives gained from being involved in law firm management, I will be able to bring a weathered ear to a range of difficult situations,' Mr Saul told Legal Business.
Mr Saul will step down as senior partner of the UK's most profitable law firm on April 30 after eight years in the position.
