The firm has appointed leading M&A partner Richard Pollack to succeed incumbent managing partner Richard Morrissey at the helm of its London office. Mr Morrissey is stepping down from the role after five years of leadership. Prior to his appointment in 2011, Mr Morrissey was also one of Sullivan & Cromwell’s M&A heavyweights, having led its M&A practice group in Europe and served as co-head of the firm’s private equity practice. His successor Mr Pollack, a specialist in cross-border M&A work, has management experience as the firm’s former co-head of PE and former co-head of its general practice group. Sullivan & Cromwell posted a revenue rise of 40 per cent to £36.8m this year, particularly impressive given the firm’s flat year-on-year fee-earner headcount.
