Revenue at Taylor Wessing grew 10.1% to hit £526.2m in the year to 30 April 2025 against a 21% rise in UK profit per equity partner (PEP).
Fee income for the firm’s UK business jumped 15% to £283.7m while profits were up 12.3% to £103m and PEP rose from £908k in FY2023/24 to £1.1m.
The firm said that as part of its growth strategy, it aimed to become “a leading global firm of choice in our core markets and geographies”, supported by tech and the implementation of a client investment programme.
“We are delighted to see strong growth across our business, as the strategy that we implemented is proving effective,” said UK managing partner and global co-chair Shane Gleghorn. “Our ongoing focus on premium, high-profile transactions, complex disputes and critical regulatory work in our core sectors is paying dividends.”
Taylor Wessing has made 24 lateral partner hires globally since the start of last year, focused on growth areas including M&A, disputes and investigations, patents and innovation and IP. The firm bolstered its patent litigation capability across the Netherlands and France, where it hired a team from Pinsent Masons.
The firm noted it was the top-ranking law firm for AI transactions according to Pitchbook and onboarded the legal Gen AI tool Legora. It is also upgrading its offices in several locations, including London, Dublin, Liverpool, Cambridge and San Francisco.
Gleghorn was re-elected UKIME managing partner in October 2024, and Oliver Bertram began as German managing partner in July 2024. Both sit as the firm’s co-chairs.
In January, the firm extended its reach to Italy after forming a strategic alliance with 100-lawyer Italian firm Orsingher Ortu, adding to its existing alliance with Spanish heavyweight ECIJA.
Earlier this year it also announced a “strategic realignment” in China, opening a new office in the high-tech centre of Shenzhen, making Shanghai its main base of operations, while closing its Beijing office and transferring work to the Tailun IP Agency.
