Top Japanese firm opens in Shanghai

Japan's largest law firm, Nishimura & Asahi, has been given a licence to open in Shanghai by the Chinese Ministry of Justice.

The new base will be run by finance partner Toshihiro Maeda with counsel Takashi Nomura. The firm said in a statement: 'Our expansion into Shanghia, a city expected to experience further economic growth due to the establishment of the Pilot Free Trade Zone, will reinforce our teams in Tokyo and Beijing.'
