UK hires: 13 June

A round-up of moves across the UK.

Osborne Clarke has bolstered its London real estate team with the addition of partners Jo Footitt and Louise Cartwright from Irwin Mitchell. Ms Footitt was also previously a partner at legacy firm SJ Berwin and has experience acting for developers, lenders, investors and land owners. Ms Cartwright, who trained at SJ Berwin before joining Irwin Mitchell in 2010 and making partner in 2014, specialises in the industrial and retail sectors.

City-headquartered RPC has recruited international trade specialist Stuart Shepherd from Ince & Co to join its commercial disputes team in London. Mr Stuart joins RPC after over 25 years as a Partner at Ince & Co, where he also led the firm's International Trade and Commodities group for more than a decade.

Shepherd and Wedderburn is set to re-enter the market in Aberdeen with the hire of Pinsent Masons' John Rutherford as a consultant. Recommended by The Legal 500, Mr Rutherford specialises in oil and gas and had been a corporate finance partner at Pinsents for three years. Prior to that, he was head of corporate at legacy firm McGrigors.

DAC Beachcroft has boosted its Newcastle office with the hire of a professional indemnity team from Manchester-based DWF. The team consists of former Newcastle Law Society president Helen Ager and fellow partner Tom Whitfield, as well as two further solicitors and professional support staff. The move comes hot on the heels of last month's hires, when the firm added seven partners from DWF to its Newcastle office.
