London

Linklaters has added Forsters partner Peter Golden to its ranks, to lead the firm's trusts practice.

Mayer Brown has added Financial Conduct Authority lawyer Guy Wilkes. Mr Wilkes joins as a partner, having been the acting head of department within the enforcement and market oversight division, retail and regulatory investigations at the regulator.

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius has expanded its competition practice with the hire of partner Omar Shah, who arrives from Latham & Watkins, 

Taylor Wessing has appointed Bird & Bird partner Angus Miln to its corporate technology team. Mr Miln was at Bird & Bird for nearly a decade and founded and led its venture capital practice.

Baker & McKenzie has hired Scott Nelson from ENSafrica in order to boost the firm's private equity practice. Mr Nelson has more than two decades of experience and was head of ENSafrica's Africa practice group in London.

Herbert Smith Freehills head of fraud and asset tracing ­Robert Hunter is moving to private prosecution boutique Edmonds Marshall McMahon to launch its civil fraud team.

Eversheds has boosted its corporate team with the hire of Sebastian Orton from Jones Day. Mr Orton has recently advised Made.com on a fundraising round and Peel Hunt on its IPO of real estate trust Regional REIT. 

Plexus Law consultant Laura Trezise has joined insurance litigation law firm BLM’s occupational disease team as a partner.

Carpmaels & Ransford has appointed three new members to its patent litigation and life sciences practices. David Wilson joins as a partner from Herbert Smith Freehills, along with Arnold & Porter counsel Jake Marshall and senior associate Jennifer Antcliff.

Jim Wood has moved from the partnership of Lamport Bassitt to join BL Claims Solicitors as a senior associate in the firm’s personal injury team.

Dispute resolution duo Chris Gooding and Sukhi Kaler have left Fasken Martineau to join Nabarro as partners.  

Southampton – Clarke Willmott has hired Coffin Mew partner Richard Swain and senior associate Amy Kerr for its corporate and commercial teams.

Birmingham - Freeths has appointed Nigel Gardner as a partner, with Mr Gardner having previously led DWF’s commercial team.

Nottingham – Browne Jacobson has boosted its public sector team with the hire of partner Anita Bradley. Ms Bradley joins from Cheshire East Borough Council, where she was head of legal services and monitoring officer.

Manchester – Squire Patton Boggs has appointed real estate partner Mark Barker, who joins from DWF.

Edinburgh – Gilson Gray has taken on Warners Property’s residential conveyancing team. Debbie McCathie will become a partner and head of the team, with Cheryl Anderson joining as a senior solicitor.
