The UK needs to up its game on e-crime, including copyright infringement and piracy, a Parliamentary Committee has found. The Home Affairs Committee has produced a report saying that a specialist crime unit should be formed to deal with online criminal activities from intellectual property theft to hacking. The report suggests that greater numbers of police be trained as online specialists. The committee recommended that a group of experts be commissioned to produce annual figures on e-crime and trends.
