The UK's largest law firms are growing faster than their mid-market counterparts, according to new research from Deloitte. Total revenue for the top 100 law firms grew two per cent in the last quarter of the 2013-14 fiscal year. During the past six years, the top 10 firms by revenue have grown exponentially from the rest, the research shows. Even when the financial crisis first hit, leading firms generated growth of 18 per cent. Mid-market firms ranked 26 to 50, however, have only gained one per cent growth over the same six-year period. Firms ranked 50 to 100 are even worse, for their average fees per lawyer are still below their 2008 levels, the research shows. Source: Financial Times
