US law firm opens drone niche practice

Tim Adelman, head of the new group, is unaware of any other law firms offering the same specialism. 'We understand the practical aspects of the industry, but are closely tracking the rapidly emerging legal and regulatory landscape as well,' he said. A certified flight instructor, he has been working in the area for eight years, advising the US Department of Justice, Federal Aviation Administration and law enforcement agencies.

Practice issues include the privacy of people and organisations viewed by drones, lease agreements, compliance and authorisation.
