ABA President Laurel Bellows says the numbers of women in equity partnership ‘remains stalled at an unacceptable 15 percent, with little progress over the past 10 years.’ Pointing out that female equity partners earn 89 per cent of the compensation that male equity partners receive, she says on CNN that there needs to be a higher presence of women on compensation committees. And she also called for general counsel to take a stand by hiring firms with a track record of gender equality in opportunity and compensation.
